Are there any good lease/purchases ?

Your position will improve considerably if you can find a way to bring your own truck to the deal. With about 5k you can find some lot financing if your credit is dinged.

 

Just about any deal you enter into in life where you have absolutely no leverage is bound to be a bad one for you.

I spent a few weeks looking around here for any testimonies where the lease driver was doing better than a comany driver. If you find one, link me. The other problem is a startling lack of ANY testimonies of people who have completed the lease and how they are doing with their free and clear truck. This doesn't seem to ever happen. There are balloon payments at the end that you'd need to finance, putting you back where you started (look at prices of 4 year old trucks, the value is what you pay!), and the lease company can terminate you for any reason during the lease or near the end just like a company driver and lease the truck to someone else.

If you know yourself and you're just going to go ahead and do it anyway, go ahead and get it out of your system. DO NOT do it through CRE!!!

No I think you're bold and know it's better to have your own thing than to work for someone else. You're on the right track, just better to find a way to truly have your own thing, and not something that just looks like it.

Call around and talk to some dealers. They're dying to move product and someone just might come up with a good plan to get you in one.
