OK, I've read all kinds of depressing stories about drivers getting burned and ripped by the big bad companies who take advantage of us poor drivers, but is there... ANYBODY... out there involved in a lease/purchase deal and are completely satisfied? And if so, what company are you with. This is my dream! I want to own my own truck but not get stuck! I know it's not gonna be easy, and there will be sacrifices to be made. But can it be done and still bring home 3000+ a month? Thanks for the input........
Are there any good lease/purchases ?

Your position will improve considerably if you can find a way to bring your own truck to the deal. With about 5k you can find some lot financing if your credit is dinged.

I am sure that's true, but the point in a lease purchase is to get in a truck with little or no money and work it off. Is this just a fairy tale. What about John Christner? They have some really nice trucks. Was thinking about CR England, but not since I've read the posts on this site. I am liking this forum alot already

Just about any deal you enter into in life where you have absolutely no leverage is bound to be a bad one for you.
I spent a few weeks looking around here for any testimonies where the lease driver was doing better than a comany driver. If you find one, link me. The other problem is a startling lack of ANY testimonies of people who have completed the lease and how they are doing with their free and clear truck. This doesn't seem to ever happen. There are balloon payments at the end that you'd need to finance, putting you back where you started (look at prices of 4 year old trucks, the value is what you pay!), and the lease company can terminate you for any reason during the lease or near the end just like a company driver and lease the truck to someone else.
If you know yourself and you're just going to go ahead and do it anyway, go ahead and get it out of your system. DO NOT do it through CRE!!! -
If you search, Turbotrucker did an evaluation of the leases. -
Yea, your probably right. Maybe I am going about it all wrong. I don't like the idea of a company letting you go AND taking your truck. That's kinda like renting a house from your boss....if he gets mad and firs you for some reason, now you're homeless and unemployed!!! OUCH

thanks roadmedic, I'll check it out

No I think you're bold and know it's better to have your own thing than to work for someone else. You're on the right track, just better to find a way to truly have your own thing, and not something that just looks like it.
Call around and talk to some dealers. They're dying to move product and someone just might come up with a good plan to get you in one. -
jct seems to be one of the better ones
you actually get a truck at the end of it -
As a general rule it is very bad to purchase a truck from the same company that controls your freight,....
Ask Brickman how he feels about lease purchases,...
