New pay increase across the board for all drivers of .03/mile. All miles driven & all drivers. Delivery drivers to get a .01/per case for delivery breakdown loads. A scaled out driver after 2 years with DOT will be @.47/mile minimum plus up to .04/mile fuel bonus. All totaled pay would be a minimum of .51/mile.

 

Job update: I’ve changed my employment status to part time @ DOT FOODS due to a return to my previous occupation. DOT is still a great employer in the transportation industry & one of the best driving jobs out there. I started @ DOT fresh out of CDL school @.36/mile. Starting pay will vary based on experience. The yearly promised wage was 65K. I worked as a customer delivery specialist which means I broke loads down @ customer warehouses which you’re paid to do. My first year wages were 86K. I had raises every 6 mo. & scaled out in 2 yrs. There were annual raises during my 2 1/2 yrs of full time employment which had me @ .50/mile when I went to part time. My 2nd yr. gross was 96K. I worked a traditional 5/2 schedule, every weekend off without fail. I worked Jan & Feb of 2019, grossing 26K+ in two months. I only went back to previous employer due to pension benefits for retirement that I’d not pass up due to a 20YR career there. If you’re looking to change driving jobs & live within a 100 mile radius of a DOT DC or DROP LOT they’re a company I would recommend interviewing with. The hiring process is thorough & they’re very selective to get the best employees in their fleet. They’ve 14 DC’s nationwide with a 1400 truck fleet of Volvo’s & Peterbuilt’s. They deliver their own freight so down time is not an issue regularly. They pay layover, detention, etc. About the only thing you don’t get paid for is adding DEF & refueling your tractor & trailer. They’ve a respectable BCBS insurance plan that is reasonable in cost. Good luck in your driving endeavors & be safe out there!
