Yeah, this. Dispatch likes getting empty reefers loaded here going to Indy so they get bunnyhopped to New Castle or Groveport. Makes no sense when you consider the distances of some of our deadhead moves but as one of my old DM's said, "if they keep loading 'em Dispatch's gonna keep sending 'em."

I know I shuttle alot of empty reefers from West Jefferson Target to BH in Groveport. But that's the attitude now, just leave it for the next guy. I should drop reefers at Hill Phoenix and dry vans at BH. LOL!!!

I did. 3.5 hours later. Got to Hagerstown. Dropped, hooked to an mty and now back at the yard. Picking up a load going to Suffolk in the morning and then home and on to the beach.

Yep, that's the one! I didn't have hours to go anywhere so it wasn't an issue. I think you came in just a little before I did. I got in around 8. Closed the curtains and went to bed. My fm asked me if I wanted to deliver it so I could get paid to go home. I thought about it and said why not, kinda wished I said heck no! LOL But it's all good. If you need an mty, I dropped 7319 on the diagonal side (if it's still there).

Had a load of HP coolers that delivered to a grocery store being remodeled in Lawrenceville, GA. A couple hours before I got there, I got my next load assignment: Pick up MORE deli coolers in Bessemer, AL.

Only, these coolers weren't coming from HP. They came from some other company. I feel so unfaithful.

They were being delivered to Boar's Head, specifically the BH plant in Petersburg. And let me tell you, the girl at the gate was really flustered by the fact that I wasn't pulling a reefer and wasn't hauling lunch meat and/or cheese. They've got that little tablet thingy that she's got to fill out with info about the state of my trailer. And she's supposed to fill in the blanks with the set temp on my reefer, the actual temp on my reefer, the fuel level of the reefer fuel tank, etc.

    And she couldn't, because I wasn't driving a reefer.

Not that it stopped her from asking.

    "What is this you're carrying?"
"Refrigerators. Coolers, like in the lunchmeat section of the grocery store."
    "...is it refrigerated?"
"No. I'm not driving a reefer."
    "...so there's no temperature?"
    "Nope."
"How much fuel does it have?"
    "None. Because it's...not a reefer."

    And so it went.

Finally she was able to contact someone in receiving who gave her the permission to let me in and drop it on the lot. And there was much rejoicing.
