where in colo. are you from? I lived in morgan county up till this week...

can't tell you much about the schools, but this i can tell you: if you can get on with a farming operation you dont have to have a cdl for local hauls (under 100 air miles i do beleave) as long as the truck has farm plates. some companies such as teagues and kroskob will take on people to drive (when there is an opening of course) that dont have a cdl to do tiddly stuff. some oilfield company's will train as well, or there is the same course that i took: join a harvest crew, earn a paycheck and learn to drive w/ legit experience while getting room and board as part of the job. the company I worked for was based out of kansas and start back up in april for wheat in oklahoma, I can send you the number if you would like.

i would recommend checking any company you are interested in and see what schools they hire from.

I would stay away from schools, a friend of mine did the II TR school which he like and they did teach him the things he needed to know but for the $4000 in tuition and by him paying the minimum balance each month he is paying out over $8000 for that 4 week school.:biggrin_25513: I dont know how company sponsored schools work out but I would try anything else that doesnt require out of your pocket money, at least in that amount.

Try your Community Collages they may have a trucking course and that will be alot cheaper and better training. thats my opion.

I just graduated from Northern Colorado Truck Driving Academy on Saturday. Just got to wait for the DMV to be open on Tuesday to get my license. I am trying to get pre-hired with May since they have a terminal in Denver, just have to get my license done first.

The course was pretty straight forward. Sergio and Roy were great. There was definitely good 1 on 1 time with there being only 2 students in the course. If you got any questions about them, I would be more than happy to try and answer them for you.

    Lisa9 Thanks this.
