Hey All,
My name is Eric and I just passed my CDL-A road test on Tuesday. To receive the hazmat endorsement in Connecticut you need to pass a knowledge test, which I already have, and you need to go through a TSA HMA threat assessment. My question is can I get the threat assessment done before I hold an actual cdl, right now I only have a permit? I'm trying to avoid multiple trips to DMV. I called TSA and they said it varies state to state. I also called DMV but their wait time is 2 hours.
Thanks,
Eric

You will find a number of Sites to get your Hazmat. Nothing is one stop shop anymore. You will be making trips.
I had a post that detailed the process more precisely linking to a list of sites that does that kind of endorsements etc.
You might as well settle in and get used to making trips. -

Get the hazmat while you have your cdl permit. This way, when you graduate from school, the DMV will add hazmat to your hard copy cdl.
If you don't do this, you'll have to make an extra trip to the DMV to have the hazmat endorsement added to your cdl.CJ701 Thanks this. -
it usually takes up to 5 weeks for the fingerprint and all that, better do it asap
