I just finished working on a oil leak that my volvo had. The leak was from a broken O ring on the turbo cooling line correct me if it's not the proper name.
The line is under the turbo and goes down behind egr cooler and connects to the block.
I with the help of my mechanic took the turbo and egr cooler apart to get this o ring change. Yesterday I put everything back together but now I have this weird noise coming from the turbo.(rough guess) It sounds like if the compressor wheel is dragging or rubbing once I rev up to 1400-1600 rpms.
We inspected for leaks today but there are none.
Thinking on having computer put on to see if actuator went bad.
Maybe I need balancing?

Did the mechanic make sure he removed the turbo gasket completely? If not the turbo will be destroyed by the rogue piece.

Yes, we took it off and put a new one on.

This is my update on this situation.
The mistery issue was a rough sound coming from the turbo after being put back together.
After seeing videos and comments on this site and other forums I went back and checked all gaskets, clamps and connections.
I found that there was a gasket that broke in half, it was on the end of the egr cooler where the u shaped pipe connects to egr.
Gasket replaced and mystery sound disappeared.
Thanks.daf105paccar and QUALITYTRUCK Thank this.
