    What does anyone know for sure about West Side Transport? I'm not currently looking for work, but I do seem to get regular communications from this company and I'm curious to know if they are a good company or not. I see their trucks all over the areas I run and I don't usually see any one saying anything about them on here. I may recommend them to a few drivers if they turn out to be a decent outfit, if not then I won't steer anyone in their direction. Thanks in advance for any info.

    I'm starting with them tomorrow morning at 0800 - home daily in the Detroit area. Seems like a good outfit, but they picked a j@ck@ss of a clinic for my physical. Same information as always, but I jumped through hoops for a week to satisfy the PA they sent me to. He wanted to send me for a sleep study, but I'm already on a CPAP. When I cost him $1000, he returned the favor.

    So far I've drawn two paychecks from West Side and I'm pretty happy. I started off making significantly less than the recruiter had indicated. They actually rewrote the pay for my regular run form a straight-mileage pay to a flat rate, after they realized it didn't pay enough. This is the first company I've ever worked for that took a step like that. Now I'm making what I need, with affordable benefits kicking in on October 1st. We got off to a rocky start because of several factors, but West Side has stepped up and taken care of me like an employer should. I'm very impressed and don't plan to go anywhere else soon.
