You never know who owns what. The other day, here in Nevada, I bought some stuff in Smith's Grocery store and when I got home, noticed small Kroger emblems on some of the items. The stuff is cheaper than Walmart. I know Kroger bought Von's on the west coast and found that out when I drove for First Fleet and hauled loads out of Tennessee to Phoenix and California.

C&S bought the Piggly Wiggly chain down south and their Greenville, South Carolina facility is big.

I have heard so many nightmare stories from c&s. Mostly due to nyc runs. Rare a guy say they were good. I was at a warehouse when they just switched over to jb. The driver said he likes it better as jb. Better pay ect. I was shocked to hear that.

C&S as a receiver can suck most days. Depends upon the facility you are delivering to.

As an outbound (route) driver they are not bad. They really know how to plan and run efficient, so other than dealing with major city areas, which is typical of most local jobs anyhow, they are decent. Usually no more than three stops on a trailer, and unless you are doing meat or tobacco it is counted by the pallet not piece with very little driver work involved. Tip a pallet over and you will help clean it up, but otherwise most of the stores do their own unloading. A few are lift gate or scissor lift, most are simple.

I have friends that are still with the C&S account and they like it. JB was an improvement over Webster in Newburgh and Chester, NY, less hassle, better equipment and no more illegal dispatching.

    Yep.
I’m pulling loads for SuperValu which also owns Savalot.
We have a dc in Coxsackie NY

I worked at JBH on the cs Newburgh location. Many ex Webster drivers who transitioned to JBH miss Webster dearly.
JBH runs the account poorly as usual

I haven't seen any of those red super value
Trucks in years. Are they still in business.
They used to be all over the north east.

Super value is still around with a dc in new Stanton pa , Minneapolis and Fargo .
They closed the des Moines dc and I think Bismarck nd too ...they don't seem to be the powerhouse they were years ago .
