I have done swaps where one party has to finish the load where the final is say 50 miles away but only because that’s was the only way to make the logistics work to get empty and get home while you’re other load continues on it’s way to on time delivery. But this scenario rarely happens.
A short shag load here is 800 miles Atlanta to Dallas . We don’t do any intra-regional work

That sounds great.

I wish. I’m supposed to get from about 10 miles north of Hartford to Halls in Plainfied, NJ with maybe 3 hours at most remaining on my 70 once I get to the receiver. I told Dave it’s not happening given I’m going to have to move after unload at Trader Joe’s and deal with Hartford morning traffic before I can get somewhere to wait on remaining traffic to subside. So 3 hours to cover 160 of THOSE miles isn’t happening even with good traffic conditions. Guess I’m going to have to hold up at the Pilot in Milford then go in early next morning depending on when he gets the appointment moved to.
Unloads Vernon, CA noon Monday.JZ80 Thanks this. -
You'd run out of hours on the GW. Is Halls load an account or broker load?Nice run out to California... ####, I can't wait to return to Holland.
-
Don’t know. If it’s broker, there’s nothing to indicate such for me to deal with.
-
Unloads noon Monday, wow. That should be interesting.

I’ve got the hours to do it but will have to run the last 250-300 miles Monday. But if I complete this run as scheduled, that will make for 7,250 miles in 14 days for the pay period, again with nothing carried forward.jeff18 Thanks this.

Yes. And I generally refuse to break at the Vince Lombardi but will have to play it by ear. If I hold up at the Pilot, then I have to leave early enough to beat nyc traffic which puts me in the cluster fluck that is leading into Halls at 06:00. I don’t like any of my options and Dave is probably going to wait until last minute to provide me a new appointment.
Sometimes I think some of those guys think the magic hour fairy is going to come in overnight and give me more hours to work with and the problem will go away.JZ80 Thanks this. -
Yeah, the Lombardi. . I've glanced at it from the turnpike. If I need a ten hour near there, take my chances at the Walmart in Secaucus.
-
I made it to S Plainfield shipper with 10 minutes remaining with careful planning and execution. Waited as long as I could for traffic to clear up some then arrived 20 minutes prior to appointment.
They’re allowing me PC option for once I’m loaded. There’s a Holiday Inn close by. At least now I can head out early and maybe get through Harrisburg before traffic.
