People also always have an excuse. Do I wanna go lift after running 600 miles? Nah not really... do I wanna be a frail #######? Never haha so I do it anyways.

If you’re otr there is still a ton you could do. Yeah you won’t be squatting with barbells but what’s wrong with body weight lifts?

Worried you’ll look dumb? Don’t be, slamming a 100oz soda looks way more dumb.

go read a thread about team drivers at either of these companies and see what they are doing and how much time they have and what may suit you better.

Thanks Chinatown. Definitely one of my goals if I can get through training and a year with SNI.
I'm looking at moving to South Carolina but that's at least a couple years away.

I tell people they are most probably best to stay away. I am a little batsh17 crazy, so it works for me.

Walking 2 to 3 miles on your 10 does wonders. No time to waste, just do it and get to sleep!

they are right, that truck will keep moving or you`ll be moving on to the next job. Just the way it is in OTR driving.

If you both want to drive I suggest you both find local jobs at least eventually make that a consideration. I make 53k per year, if my wife also did it (therotically) that would be 106k yearly which would be darn good money.

Even so do expect to have kids if you both truck. I work 9-12 hours per day 6 days per week. No matter what you do in this industry it's going to be long hours. This is not a office job set with a predictable 8 hour shift.

My wife works at a hospital in admissions and makes significantly less then I do, but her benefits package is incredible $60 per week full family plan with zero deductable or copay. Such things are unheard of. She also has a full pension plan.

Our schedules actually work out well. I work from 6am to usually 3pm but could be as late as 6pm, nothing set in stone. Usually we only need a sitter for 2 hours per day. As I said this industry no schedule is set in stone and you have to accept that going in.

Personally I didn't do it very long but I hated and loathed sleeping in a moving truck. I only did it while beeing a Werner student and left for local work once completed

No true... The only time there is 3 in a truck is when a new hire is being trained for team operation. Once they get out of training the go to a 2 man truck.
