Other than not being home, can I still have a life?

That type of training is hard to get. When I was younger I did all that stuff and it was important to me. I was hoping when I started driving I might be able to dive back into to the body building/strength training stuff.

But after driving all day, even if I had the time, I personally found myself to mentally tired to want to try to find a gym and get there. But usually I found I never had the time without cutting into my 7-8 hours of sleep.

I have seen some drivers parked and had a small portable gym in their truck, and they were very well built. But yeah there's no Gold's Gym inside a truck. Although if you look at guys like Jean Claude Van Dam.. they apparently did nothing but train with their body weight and improvising where ever they could due to not having the luxury of a full gym when they were up and coming.

Once you start driving those things, it's hard trying to figure daily where you are going to park it and go into the gym and the risks associated with doing that. Personally I just want to park at a truck stop so I can get a shower and something to eat then go to bed and sleep soundly without driving over curbs and worrying if a cop is going to wake me up and tell me to move and stuff like that.

if you guys manage your time well, stopping and visitting a city is extremely possible, especially when you guys are doing 34 hours reset. just have to spend a little extra for uber or lyft. sometimes when you arrive way too early at a customer that doesnt open on the weekend is also a good time to hangout. excercise is almost impossible though since you need time to eat, hygiene, and simply a little break

Cutting into 7-8 hours of sleep isn't the best thing in a long time perspective.

    Wargames and TravR1 Thank this.

You're right. It's not. The OP is wanting to team which leaves even less time for gym hunting. Most 34 resets will probably happen at the customer locations while he is in the sleeper berth waiting to be loaded/unloaded when he has already been sleeper for a full shift.. from my experience teaming that's usually what happens when I do get to run hard and stretch my hours to the limit and make the money. Its hard to leave the truck at a customer because you never know for sure how long it's going to take them, they might be done fast... then you wanna be back on the road and moving again.

You can do some body weight exercises at the truck, and I have seen drivers pull out small mobile gyms out of their trucks and done some workouts and they were very well built. When I go solo I will probably start doing something like that then I have a full 10 hours of not being able to move. But while I teaming and on the road, I don't get that. As soon as I am done driving, my codriver is in the driver seat and driving after is pre-trip.
