Just curious to see if anybody has stopped at the Farris truckstop off I29 in Faucet MO, I think exit 34. I stopped there last night with a friend of mine on our way from kansas city, and had a really good meal. The waitress was very nice, and the reasonbly priced food was also excellent. I haven't been to a lot truckstops but I really enjoyed this one.
Has anybody stopped at the Farris truckstop?

Yea, it's one of the last older truckstops that is still good. I think because Barlow trucking is next door is why it stays in business.
-
I think you are right, because there were 3 barlow trucks fueling up when we left.

when i drove for barlow Mrs. Farris owned both barlow trucklines and farris truck stop. her husband started them way back and when you walk from the resturant to the store side there are pictures on the walls from the start till today she was a nice lady

Yep try stop there whenever we are up that way there Cigarettes are really cheap and they always provide great service.

Love that place, good food and feels like the old truckstops i use to go to with my Dad when i was a kid. Nice break from the big chain truckstops. If you ever get a chance, stop at the Truckers Inn, I-90 ex266 in Nodine MN, just outside La crosse WI, Great homecook type food, good parking, and feels like what truckstops should be, good people

I agree, the farris is one of the great one's I used to drive for Barlow and we called that home I miss them very much, great people at the ferris I just could'nt make any money at Barlow. When I worked for Barlow a driver got paid 20% of their cheap rates ( usally around a dollar a mile ) but I did get a new pete if only I could take that to the bank and pay bills I wouldstill be there.

Running Late...
When you were at Barlow, did you know Mary? She was married to a Ferris, since divorced. I worked with her when we both worked at TWA in KC. She married a Butler, relative of Butler Trucking in KC. Moved to Dallas with American Airlines but don't think she is there any more. To badI lostcontact with her. -

I used to stop there once a week. But that's been about 10 years ago. I always enjoyed the place. Food was good and reasonably priced. Service was excellent. Would have recommended it to anyone.
