Thermo King Evo. Came with the truck.
Worldwide Equipment Knoxville (the only Volvo dealer local to me) has a guy named Brian Pyle that is really good with this stuff. He changed the shifting for me, charged me one hour's labor IIRC.
Horsepower upgrade was $500 I think.
Your thoughts on a volvo?

Good for you driver .
What the HP on it ? And is it XE package i woulf guess.or eco torque? -
Great .does it always start with 1st gear now and progressing and so on ?
-
You will have problems with that truck later on. The new emission trucks do not like all that idle time. Year 3 -4 will be expensive.
-
Trade it in once it hits 480,000 to 500,000 miles... Or 4 years old, Which ever comes first. In this case it will be miles, I just rolled over 440,000... So it will be going down the road before the end of the year. My last one was a 2014 and it did start to have some dpf issues a few months before it got traded.

It is the eco torque, 425 hp.warrior12345 Thanks this.

No, They can set the start gear for you. Mine was 5th and I got him to change it to 3rd. It is smart though. It will start in first if it needs to.warrior12345 Thanks this.

Transmission oil and filter change interval for volvo is 500,000 miles. Cost at a dealership with labor etc runs a little under or over 375.00. I had them do it on the first one one(warranty runs to 750,000). You are right the Ishift is the best AMT out there. Driven Pete's and Internationals but the Volvo beats them hands down.
The engine runs extremely well, but the cups and injectors are an issue with most older Volvo's. You have to be aware of that and plan for it. But the newer common rail engines have been pretty much trouble free according to what my volvo service has said. Very few problems.CorsairFanboy Thanks this. -
Fuel milegae wise you guys are getting a dream come true. My and one of my friends 780 with a volvo d13 gets 5.8 religiously. My neighbor has same truck with a Cummings (I think isx) he gets the same. We all have eaton fuller 13 speed. It pisses me off cause my old freightliner century got 6.8-7.2 as long as I kept it under 75

Been hauling fuel with a D13 and it's been a great truck. No unscheduled downtime which is the most important thing for me. Get 7.3 mpg on a 10 speed 455 hp and I drive a lot more surface streets than most.
Gets in and out of gas stations easily.Last edited: Sep 9, 2018
