Truck is running good, getting good mpg, i replaced the ecm because it was giving me stop engine light due to low oil pressure ( everything else was checked) Freightliner charged me $2200 with programming included

$2200 to check your oil pressure? Was it really a bad ECM? Really? These ECMs are normally good for ten years, did they actually show you what was wrong with the ECM? Very rare for one that new fails... Just saying, and not trying to start a fight. These dealers just rip you guys off, and trust me, they have gotten me too. I just hate hearing this nonsense.martin2722 Thanks this.

I checked the gauge, oil press sensor, oil ps harness and then used ecm. All done by local shop, at the end it turned out it's the ecm. I did go with Freightliner for the part only not the diagnostics. I'm done doing diagnostics with freightliner

RERM, jsnell and martin2722 Thank this. -
It's me again. I'm having a white smoke issue in the morning, sometimes it goes away after 5 10 min, but when extremely cold it would stay all day. Went to shop, they were thinking injector #4 & #6( skow response) . We did replace them, still the same. They are saying a liner, I'm like NO. They said gloss in manifold, and yes i see it in top of pipe, wet glossy. I might be losing less then 1 gallon of coolant every 10000 miles ( i would have to confirm this tomorrow morning). Before all of this happened i had o rings leaking oil in manifold. Bought new cylinder head set from Detroit ( injector cups included) for almost 2k. O rings fixed, no more oil in manifold. I think its crazy to push for overhaul on 542k miles and truck running good just a slow start when really cold. I'm not a mechanic, I'm still learning my way around this truck but this doesn't make any sense. Maybe I'm wrong

Oil sample. Lets find out what's in the oil.
Hate to be a negative Nancy, but I had a polished cylinder in my S60 at 600, and then again at just under a million. Not sure what happened the first time (I was a rookie), but the second time the head gasket went. Needless to say, I take the "million mile motor" stories with a grain of salt.martin2722 Thanks this. -
I appreciate your feedback, i will do oil samples this week. What do you think about them saying dropped linner just from taking the manifold out? I have less then 11.000 miles on the new head

I'm not the guy to ask. @swaan helped me out when I had my last troubles. Maybe he's got his ears on....
martin2722 Thanks this.
