    Alright,
For the past 4 years I've used two Cobra CB's. The first was a 25 LTD Classic. The radio was stock, and performed OK. The next CB was a Cobra 19DXIV which is on a scale of 1 to 10, about a 3.5.
I've decided it's time to go with an export. I've got a Wilson 5000 Trucker and I'm looking at the Galaxy 55HP. I'm trying to decide the shop to purchase the radio from.
Has anyone on this Forum used with the following:
    Walcott CB
    Bells CB
    Sparkys CB shack
    Radio Active Radios (Read Below)
I just read the thread on them, but the lifetime promise on their work makes me consider them...
    What do you guys recommend?

If Radio Active by Radshak? I heard that theirs can't be peaked. But that was a while back; I just thot it was something you'd watch for.

Just walking into Radio Shack makes me mad. Over priced and poor service.
Radio Active Radios is a shop out west know for their "Wack Packs" which I've herd good and bad things about.

Stay away from Radio Active unless you are just going to buy an untouched CB. Don't let them touch it period.

If you want a properly peaked and tuned CB then look at Sparkys or Custom CB radios (Doug was one of Sparkies premier techs and went out on his own and is also the originator of the Stealth Cobra 29).

Also stay away from GI joes and Clays or any radio shop that likes to clip things during their peak and tune.

Ok its been a long time since i was around any of those shops. But 1 of them catches my attention that would be Walcott. I know the guys that used to run it were all Hams or studding ham's used to have a slow scan set up in the tech shop and i used to talk or trade videos with them. Now Clays used to be one of the best back 10 years or so a go when Clay ran it but i understand his son is running it so it may not be the same as it was.

I buy most of my radio equipment from Walcott CB. Been really happy with them over the years. :)

I've bought stuff from Radio Active, Sparkys, and Clays. And never had any problems with either of them...That said, I have delt with Clays for over 25 years, and keep going back...If they didn't know what they were doing, I would find someone else.

Don't think you will have any problems with any of these shops.
