Most do.....yes......some a little higher and some a little slower
-
That's what I govern myself at, too.

Judging by your other post you're going to Swift. Be glad you get to go 65 mph. When I got my CDL 8 years ago, Swift was still limited to 57 mph.
-
Is that how they got the nickname "Slow Wheels In Fast Traffic?" Or was it "Sure Wish I'd a Faster Truck" LOL
Lilbit Thanks this. -
Yup,thats when Swift picked up those nicknames.

schneider is 63 solo, 65 for teams... my truck is a former team truck. It goes 66 mph... I'm like Super Schneider!

sadly, its the insurance companies that actually help in this governing of speeds. they raise the rates killing the trucking companies bottom line. so therefore, for a trucking company to have any kind of profit margin, they cut back the speeds, in which the insurance industry basically dictates, and in the long run, reduces the overall price for coverage.
it doesn't help too when truckers speed and crash, or drive tired.
i believe that most if not all trucking companies "look" for scape-goats when it comes time to listen to the insurance company. "you either get rid of the driver, or we jack up your premiums so high, you'll go out of business".
who do you think a trucking company is going to listen to, a "guilty driver", or a powerfull insurance company...........??????? -
Of course, when something goes wrong in front of you, you will wish with great fervor that the truck was not even capable of doing 25 mph....
-
When I owned my own trucks they were not governed at all,but I always found it better to just obey the speed limits.I am now driving a company truck governed at 65 MPH and it doesnt bother me a bit.Always found the best way to make good time is to keep the left door closed.Ever notice when you are driving down the interstate at the speed limit, and a big shiny Pete or KW will pass you 3 or 4 times in a 200 mi.stretch.
