Shifting a 10 speed uphill

What a collection of morons! The poor OP has been told nothing but contradictory gibberish. It's no wonder trucking sucks with most of you for " co- workers ".

 

Hahaha everybody has one. An Opinion that is. Most of my driving was off road in the brush and yes I have my opinions of how to drive. I'll just keep them to myself.

Whatever. I can guarantee there is no slippage when double clutching. Clutch wear occurs when lifting or taking off from a dead stop. If you slip plates on clutching while moving or double clutching, may need a timing adjustment. I get what you are saying, but brakes not quite the same comparison. If you think you can float on a steep upgrade. I would like to watch.

 

If you think the clutch disc doesn't get more wear double clutching than floating does then I can't help you.

I can't remember the last time I double clutched anything. I don't care if you watch or not. I float all day, every day. In the North Ga, Al, and Tn mountains. I'm also mostly on back roads and state hwys when loaded.

Just because you can't doesn't mean everyone else can't either.

 

this is why i love 18 speeds they rule in the hilly country with so many extra gears to choose from, to put it simply you'll need to match the right speed with the right revs' and the gears will go in every time just pay attention to what rev's match what speed in each gear during normal flat conditions and just match the rev's with what speeds your at going up the hill.

 

Man you got that right! I miss having 18s and 13s been stuck with 10s the last few years.
