Depends on who rebuilt the motor..if it's a Detroit reliabilt your good if no issues before 100k miles like ours. Not a fan of Fitzgerald Detroit Rebuilds! 500k miles and she runs like new! 7mpg avg as well.

My motor was rebuilt by Clarke Diesel at Fitzgerald’s. Like any piece of machinery it has needed some repairs here and there, but I won’t sell it until I am done with it. I also would buy another Fitzgerald’s glider tomorrow if I needed another rig. Even the problem child engines they have built pale in comparison to the EGR engines that go bad. Talk to someone who has had an EGR engine that spends weeks and weeks and weeks in the shop having parts thrown at it. When the aftermarket parts in a Fitz engine break, they stand behind it and put original Detroit OEM parts back in. Should have had OEM parts from the start, but they do stand behind them when they fail. Also with 3,000 rigs a year being built there are going to be issues. I still like my odds over a Paccar engine any day. My Detroit shop wins hands down over the Pete shop.

I just had them do a front cover, bull gear, oil pump and cam and rockers on mine. Seems to be decent work except for a coolant leak and power steering line leak(both just left loose) that I caught and fixed on the road the next few weeks after picking it up. I'm sure the important stuff is fine but things like that make me nervousBigBob410 Thanks this. -
I would, but every job is only as good as the mechanic that does the work. A friend of mine owns a fleet of 50-60 rigs and has his own shop, but he recommended them to me for Detroit work. So far I have been pleased with their work.
