Why would anyone stick with OTR instead of getting a local gig

Thought I would post my morning view of my 1st farm. Sunrise at the bowman farm in Wyoming county in ny state. I have my own sights. Shot was taken on top of the tanker while I monitored loading. I love going up there on a nice day for the view. 20180916_075355.jpg

If you think lot lizards have ANYTHING to do with a decision to stay OTR, I'd have to say I dont think much of your opinion. Ive got 29 happy years with my wife. 25 of which is while I was OTR. That kind of stuff never enters into it. But since it does for you, maybe your wife needs to keep you on a short leash.

It was a joke. However it does avoid the need to jerk off in the shower.

I'm going back out OTR probably next week. I've tried local enough times to know that it can be "hit or miss", or you have to unload the truck (think JB Hunt dedicated accounts and food service), etc.

Some of my local, dedicated deals disappeared when the contract wasn't renewed. Some, like running a tri-axle dump truck, were seasonal, and when it rained, you were off. My latest attempt at local was to run a motor coach. Again, a true lack of work as I was only working 3 days per week. I signed on for full-time, but never had a full-time week while I was there.

While the miles per week can vary doing OTR, it still seems to be more consistent than many of the local gigs I've had.

Look at hauling fuel, that's what I do and they wont STOP giving me 50-60 hour weeks all year round (overtime pay yay)

    I get it.
    Do want to add.
    OTR can do much more.
I’ve always been so turned off by so many girls when they speak. Great looking. But turn so ugly in the first word out of their mouth.
Then.... I ran across a woman working a convenience store. From the first word out of her mouth. Straight from her innermost being, her heart of hearts. I may actually get married. All from OTR.

Was just thinking about the convenience store girl last night. We had a real moment when I asked to purchase a paper bag since plastic is banned. Said I didnt want to look like a perverted hobo running out of the store with stolen red bull. Niquel. And lotion. She goes.. You dont look like a hobo. She was heavy set but there was some potential there. A diamond in the rough i tell ya..
