That's true, but today with all the third party companies you can get a permit pretty fast. Personally I'd avoid the State Permit Office, they don't get in any hurry.
-
When you say hanging off, you're talking about Overhang right ? As long as it's not over 6' you're legal if you're within the 75' limit, if not get a permit.
-
You have to have the original permit in your possession for a trailer over 48’ that doesn’t meet their kpra regulation. So going through a permit service wouldn’t really help because an email or fax copy of the permit still wouldn’t get you out of the scale.wore out Thanks this.
-
So out of curiosity, at that point what are your choices?
-
Not real sure. In 2015 I ordered my permit and ended up having to go load a couple days early so I left without it. Sure as heck I got called into the EB scale at Sneads going down empty. I knew it was going to be waiting for me at Holopaw because I had my brother overnight it down there. The guy at the scale looked it up and saw where I had ordered and paid for it, so he let me go after I told him that it was overnighted down there to the cafe.wore out Thanks this.

It only has to be the original Permit if it's a Blanket Permit. You can have a Trip Permit faxed or emailed to you, and you can go, in Florida anyway.

Pensacola , Plantation Key and I believe Yulee scales are Point of Entry Scales, you can get Permits there now.
-
But what if you were at a scale that did not offer them? If they will not let you leave without a permit, then what are your options to get one? I have mine, but it just made me curious what would happen
-
You can have it Faxed to the Scale. All Florida Scales offer that.
