I'm studying for the CDL learners permit and came across a disturbing section that I was hoping to get cleared up.

    Section 1.7 sub paragraph 7:
"If you have a hazardous materials endorsement you must notify and surrender your hazmat endorsement to the state that issued your CDL within 24 hours of any conviction or indictment in any jurisdiction, civilian or military, for, or found not guilty by reason of insanity of a disqualifying crime listed in" ...

Does this mean that even getting something as simple as a minor parking ticket would cause you to lose the endorsement? If so I guess I will wait until I've got a couple of years under my belt before I worry about getting it. I doubt I'd do much HazMat as a newbie anyway.

Something else the book dosen't tell you is that almost all triffice fines are double when you haul haz-mat. So a $350 fine for speeding can be $700. The points can be double as well. When hauling haz-mat you have to bee on your toes.

There is no difference in the legal limit of dui between hazmat and the regular CDL.
