That’s not right. Especially since you have been there a while.Im sure your neighbors w/ Trucks aren’t happy either. Maybe all together put some pressure on. Never know what they did or how they did it may be illegal. Technically. Seems People in a position only respond to the fear of losing the Power.

Same happened to me a few years ago. Lots of roads in my area with 4 ton weight restrictions on them for no reason. Yet take a look around and count how many enormous RVs and 5th wheel travel trailers are parked in the driveway in the neighborhood. Of course those are fine.

Around here, someone would simply yank the sign out of the ground and everyone would continue driving their trucks home. Hell, they burned down the ###### DOT scalehouse in town after they cracked down on the farmers during harvest one year.
For a more "legal" solution, you are allowed access to roads that lead to loading/unloading/rest/fuel/terminals/etc. There is a process (you can find a brief summary in the front pages of your motor carrier atlas) in regards to petitioning for access in the event there simply isn't an "allowed" way in or out. I don't have an atlas in front of me right now, but it's in there.jamespmack, sawmill, gentleroger and 11 others Thank this. -
Yes that happened to me also, in TN. One day I come home and no matter which way I take I will be going on a road that is restricted to 5 tons max. I don't bring my truck home often. I think everyone is ignoring it, I see dump trucks, semis all the time, they just ignore it. You might be able to be on the road since you are local as in a local delivery, not sure, you might argue that point. If someone was moving and using a moving company they would be allowed. They might not want trucks cutting thru those streets. Just a guess.

I would just disregard and do what you’ve always done. Maybe get a camera and point it towards your rig in case someone vandalizes. See which neighbor gives you the stink eye as you drive buy.
