Same deal here, had 5232 codes installed and pyro run pretty hot. Pinched the wastegate line and it cooled down about 150 degrees! Why does it run cooler w/ the wastegate line pinched?

thats true to a certain extent. Once the turbo gets out of its range it starts producing more boost but is much hotter then if were in its range and you don't really make more power off of it cuz its too hot. Obviously if the pyro is reading less its not out of its efficiency range. That doesn't mean that the turbo mechanically can take that amount of boost

Ok, since the turbo isnt overheating by the pyro showing cooler, you could run a boost wire, then disconnect the waste gate hose and put a one way valve or filter on the end of the hose. Am I putting all the information together right?

Loudhorn, did you notice any better power or decreased mpg with the 5232? I didnt notice any better power, thats why I went with the 6999 but lost 1 mpg. I didnt notice a difference of EGT's with 5232, but with the 6999 it will get up there and knock on 1K* on a pull, where before it would hang around 900*

No you don't need to take off the waste gate hose. by pinching it your accomplishing the same thing. I wouldn't say that running without a wastegate is totally safe either if your pushing high boost then theres a chance you can hurt your turbo. I wastegate is used to help prevent turbo overspeeding, without it there is nothing to help its just like as if it were a non wastegate housing

Ok, so I am going to get a boost and fuel wire in the mail, and try that so that the ECM wont derate and then leave the waste gate hooked up since I can get 33-34psi normally. The only reason that 'I' would unhook the wastegate would be to keep the EGT lower, then just run on the pedal to keep the boost under 36. I have heard that running a boost wire adds soot to the oil, that would be the only disadvantage that I would know. Has anyone heard how much more soot it adds?

I run oil analysis on my oil every change, 12-15K, and it is for sure something that I would never stop. The lab found that I had a cam flaking off, so it was for sure worth it to me to do it everytime.

If you think your ECM is derating now the harness won't help for that. I think your thinking that your ecm derates at 32psi like the MBN engines but it doesn't. If your looking for more power you can get the harnesses. If your getting oil analysis now i wouldn't worry about the extra soot. they can tell you how much more it does have if any.

I am pretty sure that it derates b/c when I get on a good pull the boost will come up to like 33-34, and hang for like 2or 3 seconds, then it will fall to 30 and wont come back up. I can go to the floor and it wont go past 30, I run on the pedal in the hills most of the time, and wide open usually isnt an option, I have found that a little over half or a bit more does the same. I guess that I drive by boost more than anything else. Now big roads are a different story, just set the cruise and let it roll cause it will do just fine.

I don't think it is derating must be something else... I'm almost positive its only the MBN that derate... at that low of boost anyways. My 2WS has got to be pushing 40lbs easy and no derate.

If you run with the wastegate pinched off it will get 36lbs fine?
