Pudzianowski went as far as he can go in strong man competition. He had nothing else to prove. He got so bored...went on to try MMA. BIG MISTAKE!!!

Zydrunas Savickas on the other hand might be greatest strongman of all time....

Michael Jordan bombed at baseball. Completely different sport. Baseball players were much stronger than he’d realized.
McGregor got KOed in a boxing match by someone who couldn’t KO anyone in the last decade of his career.

Pudz wasn’t even an amateur fighter getting into the ring with fighters. Of course he’s gonna gethis arse handed to him.

    BigZ is a monster.

I do the waist bends when I stop at breaks or after driving. It helps a lot. Also not putting on weight and keeping yourself hydrated is also key to making sure you help your body and muscles. We as truckers dont get enough exercise and vitamins so trying to fit that into your regimen is essential. Good luck drivers.

So far 150lbs is my max for bench, squat and deadlift (that's all I have for weights right now). I'll do 6 sets of 6-12 reps, last 2 sets to failure. When I've got more spare time I'll start hitting the gym and but for now I'm making ok progress doing what I'm doing.

Let me tell you about that “failure” thing. That’s actually the “what I can safely do without a spotter and still rack the weight” instead of failure.

Failure is the muscles completely unable to work. The brain’s mental fail safes will not allow failure. If you went to failure on a bench press, that’s you lying on the bench dead with that weight that came crashing down sitting on top of you.

In order to reach failure, you have to have a strong spotter to help you through the negative reps that you do AFTER reaching the “what I can safely do without a spotter and still rack the weights” point.
You 50% stronger on the negative rep. To go to failure you will no longer be able to do a negative. Make sense?

I should have been more specific. On the bench I don't go that hard. Don't want to die. Deadlift and front squat I go until I physically can't lift myself/weight. On the deadlift I've never gone hard enough to have to drop the weight. I'll always do my best to lower it controlled.

A reflexologist I know gave me some advice that I found to be true in my case... He said not to use the arm rest for long periods because on the bumps it drives your shoulders upward and causes neck and shoulder issues ..

I understand. Do you know what a negative rep is?

Say for example, your absolute best max pbench press was 205lbs. You would be able to do a negative with near 300lbs. The negative is you lowering the weight. You can lower much more than you can lift. Instead of “lifting” weights, you are “lowering” weights. You cannot reach failure as long as you can lower the weight.

In order to lift the weights, you must be able to control and balance the weights. When the fatigue sets in, it is all the little stabilizer muscles that konk out first. We quit lifting when that happens (fail safe in the brain). In order to do a negative, the weight has to be lifted. Without the stabilizers, you can’t lift it. That’s why it is imperative to have the spotter. The spotter, stabilizes the loads and help you lift. And you lower it. That’s 1 negative rep. When you reach failure, the large muscles that give you your power can no longer lower the weight...basically, the weight is going come crashing down. How many negatives you can do depends a lot on the strength of your spotter.

Now, I know that right now, you’re doing all you can. I am just sharing with you info that will give you the edge when you do get into a gym and can get a spotter. The first time you do it,be sure to stretch before or after...especially the arms, because if you don’t, you will be unable to wipe your arse the next day.
