Where is everyone #5

I was thinking about the discussion we were having the other day about how in the old days it wasn't uncommon to have a few beers in the yard on a Friday evening...

We used to do that too when I was managing the plant here in town...the crew needed it. Corporate office didn't seem to agree. I guess when they made us quit doing it was probably the beginning of the end.

But it made me think about another thing we did....

I bought a pop machine at an auction one time. We stocked it with the sodas the crew wanted and set the price at 50 cents a can. The money kept the machine stocked and the profit funded Friday beers and bought lunch for everyone once in a while. It had six slots for flavors and sometimes we would change them up...naturally this would end in us having several misc. cans of pop.

We put it in a slot and labeled it with this picture and wrote next to it "Let Him Decide"


When I would stock the machine I would randomly slip in a can of Miller High Life or whatever the beer of choice was from the previous week. The rule was if you got the beer can you got the rest of the day off with full pay and turned out to be a good perk for the crew.

Looking back I can see now why the corporate office wasn't my biggest fan. But then again they weren't so interested in being nice to people either.

@wore out this is the truck I told you about with the Turbo charged 2 stroke in it. I can't remember if it's 453 or 471 though . Either way, thinking about a "certain truck" you had interest in.

 

Now if y'all will just give me some elbow room....

When dose it become official? You going to keep pulling that RGN or going back to your step?

I need to do the same but insurance is crazy compared to what I pay being leased on.

Probably eating the rest of that cheesecake. He only let you have that slice to throw you off the trail.
