I never paid for a shower once. It was always off my truck stop card. 50 gallons of fuel and you can be clean. those driver rewards cards do come in handy![]()

I read an article the other day about the poor financial situation of most truck stops, and it noted that a lot of truck stops may start doing away with free showers whether you buy fuel or not. The truck stop owners were saying it would increase their revenue, among other things, like increased food prices. I think its a big rip off, that they charge upwards of $10 for a shower. If you broke it down to their actual cost, I'd say the profit margin would be about 300%. And another thing that burns my ###, is why does it cost $3 to have something faxed? They're making a killing on this too.
hxred81 Thanks this. -
Man if they do away with free showers there will be alot of smelly truckers out there.

Most of the truckstop showers I have seen aren't worth paying for . If they start charging for showers quit eating in their restaurants . They will lose more in restaurant revenue than they gain in shower revenue . Maybe they'll get the message .MuddyWaters Thanks this.

A very good point

I agree completely. It's sad to believe, but a lot of drivers out there probably wouldn't take a shower if it wasn't free. Myself on the other hand, will just have to suck it up and pay for it, but i sure as hell won't like it.

I seriously doubt most truckers shower 20-30 times a month.
