I am wondering if anyone has the same issue as I do.
During my 4 week class (CDL School) I had to initial all comments that my instructor wrote down for my driving/training for that day. Multiple times during the course my instructor wrote down "good upshifting" "good downshifting" and "good driving" but when I graduated my GPA breakdown stated that my shifting and driving were "below average". Does anyone know how this is determined at the end of a course? I believe I know why this has happened, although it has nothing to do with my driving skills. I had filled out some comment sheets that had attracted the attention of the administrator and he believed that my "opinion" on thier trucks maintenance flaws were inaccurate and that I was just a "newbie" and didn't know how trucks were supposed to run. I told him that I had been deducted 6 points on my CDL drivin exam due to not being able to get the stick in 2nd and 5th gears and that another student had failed his exam for the same reason. Once again, he stated it was becuase we were new drivers. BS. If I had the same truck that I had trained on those point would not have been deducted.
I passed my exam on the first try but I feel that management of the school "adjusted" my GPA due to my opinion. Does anyone know how I can remedy this situation?![]()

Just a brief look at the complaint it seems that you lost points for not being able to access 2nd and 5th gear.
I see that you feel it was the truck's fault, but I don't see why they would have needed your complaint to deduct the points, since it did in fact happen.
Not saying you couldn't have a valid gripe, but maybe not for the reason you are stating.
All I know is, I complained an aweful lot about the trucks we learned in, but the truck seemed to repair itself little by little as I was learning.panhandlepat Thanks this. -
i graduated feb 2 and i still have no idea what my gpa is and havent received my certificate

congrats on passing!YOU PASSED...
quit being anal bro, passing is all they are supposed to teach ya. your OTR trainer will really teach you to drive. -
I should have let you know that when I returned from the exam, the mechanic stated that the shifter bushing was worn out. I know I have alot to learn, but when an instructor stated that the truck they sent over for the exam should have been in the shop, what would you think? The problem was known, yet, ignored.
My original post was about the GPA and how to get it reviewed, if possible.
Thanks for your response PharmPhail -
panhandlepat,
Thank you for your response. I'm only concerned that my new employer will not like my overall GPA score and I have always wanted to drive with the professionals. Would hate to get to orientation and get put back on the bus. -
most co's only look at CDL-A and certifacate from a school they approve of. don't sweat it.

Your grade point average hasn't been altered or messed with in any way.
There are ONLY 2 possible scores. Pass or Fail.
I've read a book on appendage amputation. Can quote most of the procedure from memory. Would you allow me to do surgery on you? Even if I passed a written exam?
It's not about your "test" scores. Although that basic knowledge does come into play. Your driving skills will be the deciding factor.
As a possible employer, I don't care if you can quote chapter and verse. I want to know how you can drive.....period.TX ROOKIE, panhandlepat and im6under Thank this. -
Ok now I'm confused. I've been trying to set up a couple of pre-hires while I'm attending a CDL course at my community college. Crete told me that I'd have to get 90% or better to qualify. From your comment I'm assuming they would be talking about the scores in my classes and not on the CDL tests?

Yes the school gives you a score. The DMV gives you a license or not.
The classwork was weighted to be almost meaningless, and I mean TINY. There was like 100 pages of practice tests that I never did. They told me even if I had done all of it my gpa would have only been at best 0.2% higher (.002).
I filled out countless online apps. I only remember 2 that had a spot for it, and they were using some generic 3rd party form.
