Hazmat insurance is expensive. Hauling fuel to stations and drops are profitable but 1 mistake and all profitable income is lost and then some. If say you cross drop a station you have to pay for the product you dropped as well as the product in the ground

Be hard to get anything close to steady work unless you lease your truck on with a tanker company. Also depends on where you live. South Louisiana, Houston, New Jersey, Mobile etc. have lots of tanker work. Some other places none.
