Haven't started yet, but from my understanding, you have to have you CDL learners before you start. 3 weeks of school, then out with a trainer, during this time (I guess when the trainer feels you are ready) an appointment will be made with your states testing center for you to take your test. Someone with better knowledge, may add to or correct what I have said.

You've covered it pretty well here. The class portion is 3 weeks, and is then followed by 3 days of orientation. After orientation, you can elect to go home to hook up with your trainer from the general area of your home, or go out with a trainer right from school. You'll be out with your trainer a minimum of 5 weeks. During that time you'll take the state test for your CDL. Your trainer may decide to have you stay on longer than the 5 weeks, it's up to them in determining your progress and how much more they feel you need. When you are released from training, you'll go back to Millis for your final road test. When passed, you'll be assigned your own truck and then routed through home, as freight and schedules allow. You'll then be on probation for at least 90 days. From the start of school to the time you get your own truck you're looking at around 9 - 10 weeks. You'll want to make sure you set expectations for home time with your family for this period, as it's a much longer stretch than when you're finally on your own in your own truck. Enjoy!

It seems like there are several guys here heading out for MTI training in the coming 2 months. Good luck to you all, I think it'll meet or exceed all your expectations. Cheers.

Small class sizes, 2 - 2 1/2 months from beginning to CDL A with company truck.... sound good.
    Where do they train at?
    What do they haul?
    Where do they run?
    Equipment?
    Home time?
Yeah, the usual details...... I am looking at May or June.

    Thanks!
