No but I got my CDL through the company. So they taught us more than say a regular school. We backed in close quarters and real truck stops during our training. But I'm also smart enough to know when to shut up and listen to my trainer. My train of thought on NYC is I would much rather have that experience with a trainer than month 1 by myself or is that not good logic?
What should I ask my trainer to teach me?

NYC? You sir are a true masochist.
Sirscrapntruckalot Thanks this. -
I hope the trainer likes NYC. Maybe I be your trainer on this one.
You would benefit so much. It's really intense up there. -
Hate to tell you this, they don't.
You are paired with a mentor, not a trainer.
You think that hard and difficult loads are a way to learn, they are not.
NYC is not all that bad, Chicago and LA are good too ... and let's not forget Atlanta. -
NYC isn't that bad. Some places I've been to in Boston or Philly on the other hand......

Make sure you learn how to use tire chains and when!!!!!!

Have him drop you Phoenix in January. We'll go up to Seattle, then over to NYC via Chi Town, that should about cover it.
x1Heavy and Sirscrapntruckalot Thank this. -
And keep a eye on winter. It's starting as of 3 am Tuesday tonight. Logan pass, two mountain ridges above Missoula MT (I-90) is expecting 18 to 22 inches by Wed morning at 6500 feet (Continental divide) Missoula is expecting rain being in the valley and only about 2100 feet. Snows will be as low as 3500 feet in the order of three to five inches.

Please people. Correct me if I am wrong.
In NYC. You're talking about delivering in places that are made for a 48 foot trailer and a day cab. Not a 53 foot trailer and an OTR sleeper cab. Get the idea?
I've heard of companies who drop OTR loads in Jersey. Have a company who specializes in NYC deliver into town.
Other than the above. You really opened a can of humorous worms with the request of what your trainer could teach you. My mind hasn't stopped churning and chuckling about that stuff.
