I would use the search function. there are many many thread on GPS systems covering every question you could have.

... and still not really any good answers.
We're all waiting for a truly perfect GPS solution for trucks. -
Nothing is perfect!
By far the best I have found is Microsoft S&T 2009 with the Truck Stops and more template.
They have 99% of the truck stops on there as well as a good many of the low clearance and restricted routes. I have been working with them as far as feedback and things are shaping up better. Not to mention once you learn how to use the software you can add your own stops and routes.
Just my $0.02 -
Where do you get this? -
I like mine. Would NOT give it up.
The negative...it's a tool, just like your map.
Everything else, depends on how well the grey matter between your ears works.
You'll see pictures and stories in the papers everyday, about some clown that ran his truck under a low underpass, or the idiot that made a right turn, into a building.ironpony Thanks this. -
Absolutely righton! You can't trust GPS routing if the unit isn't specifically setup for commerical vehicles... a GPS programmed for a car will take you down the shortest route whether it has weight or low overpass restrictions or not. And many of the ones specifically for CMVs have glitches as well.
A GPS is a handy tool, but it doesn't replace your homework with a map. You still have to do your trip planning, and be familiar with the route before you crank it up. Allowing yourself to be blindly commanded by one of these things will get you into trouble. -
