I like 80 and 70 west of Illinois. And it pays fairly well in the winter. I haul a lot of ag equipment out there in the winters.
Do you make more money running west coast states in otr?

West is iffy to me. East I'm kind of forced to deal with since from Maine I need to go though it all

Put on a cowboy hat and move to New Mexico.

eh I enjoy the wildlife around here
-
I can understand enjoying the local landscape.
I like my trees and mountains, Force me to stay in the desert and I get miserable in a hurry.DSK333 Thanks this. -
I used to love running out west. I wish my company ran out there. It's beautiful, it's easy, it's a lot of character out there. Riding those steep mountains will make a driver out of you

Go west young man go west.
-
How you deal with that heat though and don't you miss the seasons, Appalachians and streams?
-
I can't go much further west. If I did, I'd get my feet wet.
In answer to the OP, I never drove anywhere but the west. I've always made a good living out here.
The only exposure I get to driving back east is on this forum and from what I've read I think I'm better off. -
The humidity is very low, so heat isn't a problem at all. I see people exercising here, doing brisk walks, jogging, etc. and barely breaking a sweat. I had heard about that before moving here, but had my doubts, until witnessing it.DSK333 Thanks this.
