Agreed. I never said any of those details in my post though. Not sure how you got the impression I was hauling something "cheap". My only point was being able to get a Certificate Holder added instantly via me instead of an agent holds tremendous value for my operation. Please refrain from blaming me for low rate conditions. Maybe ask for details first? Then feel free to crucify me by all means because if I am doing some negative business practices corrective/positive advice/suggestions are always welcome.

Where are you based out of? I got a new authority I have a crystal clear mvr and I couldn’t find anything cheaper than 18k a year same coverage as you and also 2500 deductible

Im in the Midwest Arkansas border and all my quotes have been unlimited miles. The quotes say 'Radius over 500' miles. I actually shopped several brokers and found the same exact insurance $300.00 cheaper through another agent. I will be hauling steel so they said my rate will be a little higher, last quote was $8312.

Im on the Arkansas border. Maybe its my equipment? I paid cash for my truck and trailer and have fixed it up real nice over the last year. I am only putting a value of $ 20,000 on my tractor. I have 30 years driving someone elses truck without a single ticket or accident on my record. I have crunched numbers for 2 years now and feel i have my operation down to the penny even though i haven't even hit the road yet. I have found one customer through a family member in the shipping dept and will be using the spot market to get back to him. If that fails i will run just the spot market.Last edited: Oct 5, 2018

That's a pretty good rate. I'm at that number also but 500 miles I drive north east and live in central Ny. In Ny you get limited on who you can use. I guess they think the whole state is city. Or too many corrupt polititions.Cat sdp Thanks this.

We've had Progressive for 1yr and it's been smooth sailing. We've had to add trailer interchange, general liability, etc. and it's always quick turnaround (within an hour). Our authority cost double, but u have a better profile, so I'm sure it matters.

Did you ever find a decent umbrella coverage? I went back to my agents office and at his advice i think i will be raising my General liability to 2 million its very very cheap
I have been leaning toward Berkshire. I like the fact they let you make payments without any additional cost. However im prepared to pay the full premium all at once. My agent likes Progressive because he can write me Downtime and Rental reimbursement while Berkshire does not offer that. He also said Berkshire charges $250 if you need to add an additional Insured and Progressive is only $25.00.DSK333 Thanks this. -
$250 that's nuts I thought $25 was bad. That down time and rental is not what it's cracked up to be. They have denied me every time I tried to get it.roadslave201 Thanks this.
