Those trucks above the campers. They’re on the very back of flyingj’s lot.PossiblyDelulu and Chinatown Thank this. -
Idaho native here. If you don't mind the winter time and enjoy outdoor activities, it's quiet. Perhaps too quiet for a New Yorker. Not much hustle and bustle, lot of open road, a few beautiful decent sized towns with the major shopping locations. Fairly low cost of living. Primarily Republican value system. Some pretty good trucking outfits. Friendly folks for the most part. I would recommend Boise or Idaho Falls. Mountains, rivers, and lakes close by.

I was looking into the Fulltime RV community before I decided on trucking, but it looks like I may incorporate the two and live in my Bluebird when we are not on the road OTRing, at least until we decide where we want to put down permanent roots.
I do know there are currently 7 states with no income tax and 2 that they consider tax friendly.
Wyoming
Washington
Texas
South Dakota (known to let you establish domicile)
Nevada
Florida
Alaska
Tennessee and New Hampshire are listed as tax friendly.
Hope this helps. Good topic!BlueThunderr, NoBigHurry and Rideandrepair Thank this. -

Google which states have income tax. Look for cities where 2 or more major interstate highways intersect. Those are usually places with many trucking companies. Just remember, after you move nobody in your new location gives a carp how you did things back home. This country is slowly seeing California and New York seeping into every other state. Where do the rest of us go once every state is messed up like NY and CA? Vow to NOT VOTE in local elections. It's the least the newbies could do.swervyjoe Thanks this. -

I talked to a few of them, retired UAW, and one was trying to unionize the volunteer drivers that give elderly people rides to grocery stores, doctors appointments, etc.
Overall though, they eventually get into the laid back, relaxed atmosphere of Tennessee and enjoy it.tscottme and Rideandrepair Thank this. -
