Using old motor oil in Fuel

yea it really works...I worked for a company that did this on a regular basis...Until the EPA found out about it...whew there were some Big fines for doing it and the company stopped it Imediatly.

 

I personally wouldn't recommend it, as the oil is very hard on your injectors. The used engine oil is full of soot, and this damages the injector tips.

 

does it make sense especially in these electronic engines

 

kerosene were the old cummins days, trucks use to smell like lamps going down the road

 

I don't know about the legalities involved, but it used to be a fairly common practice.
I drove for a company that leased their equipment from Ryder.Ryder was basically saving on oil disposal costs. These clowns would dump the entire oil change directly into the fuel tank of the truck the oil came from.(Late 80s Cummins)
Going from GA to CA truck would run like garbage. Fill up with fresh fuel in Dallas, it got better. Fill up again in El Paso, and it was almost back to normal.
Get stuck on a couple short trips that week, you just had to tough it out.
I met a guy retired from CF. Told me they did it also, way back when.

 

Dont run motor oil in fuel unless you want new injectors, its not the soot that damages them but its the detergent thats in motor oil.

 

I know for a fact, that CR England does it. Or atleast, they used to about 10 years ago when I drove for them.

 

One time I parked the truck at the Ryder shop low on fuel.
They changed the oil and dumped 10 gallons of dirty oil in the nearly empty fuel tanks.
Needless to say it wouldn't start when I came back for it.
They acted like it was my fault for not fueling the truck earlier. Like I was supposed to know they would do some stupid crap like that.
Always wondered how many engines they ruined over the years.
