The trolley valve on 91 pete won't release air brakes. If I pull the handle down and tben backup, it won't release the air. Brakes stay applied. What could it be.

Do you release the handle and let it go back to the original position?

It sounds like the quick release valve is stuck.

Either the trolley valve itself is bad or the exaust line is plugged or crimped. To troubleshoot remove the exaust line from the trolley valve and if brakes will now release and air comes out of the exaust port when you put the lever in the release position the line is plugged. If no air comes out of the exaust port and brakes will not release then replace the trolley valve. A “quick release valve” is not the problem.
