When I apply foot brake pedal air is escaping through the exhaust port on the firewall of my 96 KW. This occurs only when the park brakes are applied. I have changed out the dash park valve, still same problem. Is there another air valve the likely culprit?

did you hook up air lines on trailer backwards. also have you checked your trailer. also i never hit the pedal with nobs out.
-
It could be the foot brake valve in the engine compartment that is mounted on the firewall is bad.
-
No air lines hooked up right. Jacked up front end to apply front brakes to check king pins etc when I noticed this.
-
Yes it may be but a nasty place to get at. Wondering if there is anyway to check it out first?
-
Did you ever figure out the problem?

Had this happen a bunch on a 2000-2007 W900 fleet where I used to work. Problem was the QR1AC valve on the left framerail (inside) immediately behind the cab. Quick Release / Anti Compounding combination valve. I know this is an old thread, just figured i might be able to help someone sometime.
jsnell and God prefers Diesels Thank this.
