There is an old saying -

If you have the time, you probably don't have the money.
And if you have the money, you probably don't have the time.

Last year they closed Vail on October 2nd. How do I know this? Cause I was there.
    No chains.
I didn't think it would snow that early. Got out of it, and got lucky I didn't get pulled in a coup.

In my vernacular you are referring to the power divider, or interaxle differential lock? If you had a major air leak trying to engage that, then look for air line leaks around and between your differentials.

Get a spray bottle and fill it with water, put in a splash of Dawn dish washing soap. Set your parking brake, then engage the power divider. Get out (best if bobtail) and start listening for air leaks. Spray the areas you think are leaking with the Dawn/water mixture. Leaks will start bubbling.

Use the spray bottle as a regular part of your pre or post trip inspections. You can find leaks in your tires (especially on valve stems!), or any air line.

Get that power divider air leak resolved right quick. The ice monsters are among us. You might need to run days at a time with it engaged.

Company set me up to bring it into Kenworth first thing in the morning.
The Kenworth dealer here.... company thinks they do the best work. I’m still in my Freightliner. Still love it.
Edit: Just noticed I didn’t answer you. It’s the inter axle lock.

Good deal. Hopefully KW gets right on it, but plan on enjoying the driver's lounge or getting a hotel. By the sounds of it it's probably a cut air line or damaged connector.

Edited to add: I wonder if your power divider could even engage properly with that much air loss. After repair in the next slick situation you will probably notice you have more control.

I’m at Kenworth. It’s fine with him that I wait in the truck. Told him I got my cats carrier ready to get out. I also need sleep. :)
This place seems very accommodating. When I got back from home time. They had done work. Brought the truck back to our terminal. I had no idea they would stash the keys. A guy came out at night to help me find them. By then I already found them. They could have just called. But that was very nice. This place is getting me to warm up more with Kenworths.
Some have awful attitudes in this town. This is one of the opposites.
They know this is kind of an emergency repair. I appreciate their understanding. They’re just going to work me in today.
Got other things to address. Ain’t mentioning right now. Just get this fixed.

Gonna be a hassle fixing my truck. Seals are gone inside the axle. Air is blowing right through and out the axle. Freightliner has no idea what the seals are. Have to pull it apart to find out.
Looks like a job for our head office shop.
Meanwhile... boss is trying to get me a new truck.
I’m driving this one. Taking chance I won’t need the second axle.

I was told by my “organizer” that “they” want her to drive my truck. See if there’s any noises, clunking, or pulling to the right. So she’s gonna bobtail it for a little next week.
All this tells me is: Someone is watching my drive camera. Wanting to micro manage my driving. In a condemning way.
Got one foot closer to the door.
    Ain’t putting up with BS.
