I'm betting the church would very much like to get away from the word "donation" and back to God's hell fire command to tithe.

Lower end of the spectrum? I don't think anyone makes $10 a week.

    When I was a teenager
I ended up in a Lutheran church for some reason
And I still remember a large bulletin board on the way to the seating area
It had a list of members and the amount each had pledged, cant remember if it showed actual donations
But it left a bad taste in my mouth

I grew up in a Jehovah's Witness church. They didn't do that, but at the end of the month they'd make an announcement of how much money was donated altogether, and if it was a surplus or a deficit, and if so, how much the surplus or the deficit was. If they spent money on anything extra no matter how minor they had a vote. I am no longer a Jehovah's Witness as they kicked me out for joining the Navy, and I may think they're an odd bunch, but I do respect them for things like that. They don't even pass out a collection plate, they have a a little thing in the back where you drop it in, so no one know's if or how much you dropped in. But they do also make an announcement round tax time, if you donated over a certain amount and want it to be written off on your taxes then to talk to them after the church services etc.
