So, I guess if you get to that sign you shut it down and call for assistance so you can back it up? Haven't been to the East in a very long time and there is a reason for that.

Sounds to me like there are plenty of signs posted on the road. And in reading that article it was refreshing to see the writer doesn't like bashing truckers either.
It actually looks like they need a bypass for that route. IMO -
I'm with the Chief on this.. those signs are hard to miss. I have been down that stretch many a time in the past both ways and it is clearly marked. If you miss the signs then you are not paying attention to your driving and as this is a two lane road, you are a danger to your self and others...IMHO
rocknroll nik and rainman1971 Thank this. -
There is a bypass north of Macungie that opened a couple of years ago. The stretch of road in question I'm not so sure of. There is also a 102" restriction off of route 100 on Shantz Road which the new bypass makes it easier to get to route 222 south towards Reading. If caught on Shantz Road with a 102" wide unit the fines start at $425.00 and work there way up from there.

Below is a quote from the article, I believe it says that there is a detour around that stretch of highway
