I'm actually not an old Simon driver. I've been with Central just under 2 years. I refer to Central as us, and in the past as Simon, because that's what we were. I might not have been a Simon driver, but without Simon, we wouldn't be Central.

    Okay, I get it now.

My gosh, I wish there was some way to show you folks just how good it was for a while. I mean REALLY good. Here are some examples of how it used to be:

-- Pull into the terminal and the guards ask how you are doing, and they really did want to know.

-- Pull into the lube bays and the mechanics ask you questions about how your truck is running, and actually listen to your concerns.

-- If your DM notices you are in the terminal, he looks you up so he can make sure everything is going okay.

Things used to be so great. I really miss those days, and I hope they come back.

Depends who Your DM is, JJ always has a coffee with his when he is at the terminal.

She does a great Job and so do some of the load planners when they need to.

I would like to see all trucks have APU's since they don't like you to idle, and obviously being a L/O we would like to see the fuel surcharge paid on empty miles.........Otherwise we are happy enough at Central.

If I was going to eat somewhere on I-80 in western PA, it would probibly be at the Kwik Fill at exit 29. Barkeysville.
There is a TA there also, but I buy all my fuel at the Kwik Fill there and have eaten there on several occasions, it in our normal every day running area.
There breakfast is great. Other food is very good as well. Not fancy, but good. Also there is typically parking there well after the TA is already full.

Anyone else end up getting a bunch of inspections since the new year? My co-driver had a level 1 in Montana, 2 weeks later they tried for another level 1, and then today, at the Spokane POE my co-driver was given a level 3.

I picked up a level 2 about 3 days ago myself, and I wouldn't be surprised if I ended up with another inspection soon.

Anyone else have this happen to them?

    hello to all,
just returned home from school and training ( in witch i did most of, training that is) and then upgrading. what a log 8 weeks. Central school was good, nice people there for the most part, wanting to teach you there way. Had to ride a round a lot, i had driving in the past and they just didnt see the need for me to drive much. rode with some who SHOULD NOT be driving. i gess every class is like that.
My trainer had only breen driving for 6 mos. could not back up. after our 28 days i taught him how to back up and to SLOW DOWN on snow and ice covered roads. he through because his new truck could do 64, he should do it at all times. Scared the ---- out of me more than once.
now for my home time i got a total of 41/2 days off.
was able to meet up and talk to 1 badz was really nice talking to you. glade you were able to pull off the "trainer thing" .
hope to meet up with yall out there on the big roads. take care.
