I'd ask that from here on, you get your rate con forwarded. if not, they can CC you in on the signed copy they send back. I always forward mine directly to my guys. No reason not to.

    Burghardt18 Thanks this.

There is no easy answer. You need to find a way that works for you, and your customers. Repeat business is where it's at. Or, you can be the guy that lives by the market, and dies by the market. Do you want up and down or steady? Find good customers who are willing to pay you steadily, and call you rather than call some cheapo outfit (who 2 months ago was quoting them very high but now wants their business) and give them as much capacity as you can. It takes time to build these relationships. Some customers will stab you in the back when the next guy comes in at a lower rate. So you find another one. The lower rate guy is likely going to leave when someone offers him a bit more and your customer will again be looking for a truck. Now you've moved on to greener pastures. When you customer wants you and your steady capacity back, now you are holding all the cards. You decide do you want to go back? And at what rate? (Locked in). Or, you say forget it, if you think he is going to just use you until the next cheapo comes around. There are plenty of customers who are willing to pay steadily well for steady good service and capacity.

It has to be the bill that they send to the customer and has to be backed up with the amount they receive from the customer.

    The broker is the customer.

    Burghardt18 Thanks this.
