Boss seems to be making sure I stay busy. Makes me happy.

Idiot me. I got all set to leave in the morning. Hooked to trailer. Logs and load info sent in through peoplenet. Curtains drawn. Ready to sleep. Looked at peoplenet. RealizedI cant even leave for another 24 hours. I’m supposed to be doing a 34! Doh! Not supposed to leave till Friday morning. This is only Wednesday night! Doh!

Oh... couldn’t find that headlight adjustment screw on the outside?

Are you sure you don't have hours coming back at midnight? If so you can "run on recap", meaning you can run whatever hours you used eight days ago. It's typical for me to run weeks at a time without ever taking a 34.

I currently use Rand McNally for my EDL. It shows what I have coming back at midnight and I can look at my last eight days to thumbnail each day after tomorrow.

There have been times when I accept a load, knowing that I might have a pleasantly short day of six hours coming back, but also knowing I will make delivery on time. Check your recap hours. You very well might be able to continue to roll. At larger companies the planners and dispatchers see your available hours and dispatch accordingly.

    What am I to run?
Don’t have one till Friday morning.
    Otherwise... I’d go for it.
Friday’s run can’t take delivery any earlier.
The gal who is kinda the organizer here. She keeps trying to put me down.
Boss appears to be stepping in and planning ahead. ??? Got next three runs planned now.

I really do need to learn more on recaps.

My last run, 2 days. I started with 19 hours on 70/8. Finished and right now show 21 hours on 70/8. ????

I also realize. This 34 is looking forward into next week. As I understand. If I don’t take this 34 now. I won’t be able to jump straight from my #2 run to #3. And deliver #3 on time.
I don’t have anything right now anyways. My #1 run apparently pushed delivery back a day. Which squeezed time to and through #2. Otherwise would be headed there now for delivery tonight.
I do show 9+ hours on days 7 and 8 right now.

Let's say you used 8 hours per day for 8 days. You would finish your 8th day having used 64 hours and have 6 hours left on your 70. At midnight you would get 8 hours back from day #1, so you would start day 9 with 14 hours and keep getting back 8 hours per day.

Here is a real life example I had about a month ago. I had 15 hours on my 70. Dispatch called me and asked if I wanted to take a load from OKC to Williston, ND. I immediately looked at my recap hours and saw I had 6.5, then 9, then 7 hours coming back. It's about 20 hours drive time to get there. That's a no brainier "Yes!", even if I get a backhaul with a time limit (more hours coming back each day after that).

Once you start to get a handle on running recap hours you can earn more revenue. I typically run a few weeks before I take a 34, usually because I am tired and need a break or work on my truck.

Bear in mind. I haven’t had a 2 year card in something like 5 years. Those A holes in Rapid demand that because I have diabetes. It must be monitored. Thus no 2 year card.
It doesn’t matter to those greedy doctors in Rapid that...
I control diabetes with lifestyle. No drugs. Been doing that for 15 years. They can’t help one iota with my treatment or monitoring.
This Doctor also noted my most recent A1C is officially “pre diabetic” reading... not “diabetic”.

You people should know how great I feel right now. So good to get that once a year DOT physical off my back. Having to show A1C. Then worry about what they do on blood pressure, and yadda yadda, and...
This Doctor’s blood pressure went on the wrist. Never saw one before. Said it eliminates problem of cuff being wrong size. BP was great. Right now I feel like my BP is great.
Geesh... Feel so good. I might even quit smoking and focus strongly on health.
Like I’ve been set free. I wanna run!

    3:15 on 14 hour clock
    0:00 on drive time
    How?
