I’ve noticed something in most trucks that have space for a microwave and/or a buckle to hold one in place. 99% of the time there is a 12v plug behind it.....why would trucking manufacturers but a 12v plug in a designated “microwave” place in a sleeper?? You need at least 1500w to run a microwave correct? So what’s this logic?

That cubby is designed for a tv not a microwave.

It's made for the old tvs. .. the old cube ones. Not flat screen. Flat screen has a different mount. They just used a seat belt for old school way.

    It raps around the top.
I've had tv's strapped down in those cubby holes since the early 90's

I’ve seen some owner operator truck with regular plug in those spots instead of 12v plug. I guess if it’s a base model, you get 12v.

10-4 ok sorry probably sounds dumb but couldn’t figure out why they’d do that when 12v microwaves (besides 1 model) don’t exist. Gotcha. Thanks for informing lol

In my company s T680s they have the 1800 watt inverter behind the passenger seat midways up so your microwave cord could reach the inverter easily

That spot you’re talking about isn’t for microwaves, it’s for t.v.’s or whatnot.
