Well, I agree with Caesar with this one. If anyone here would have told me that I have to wait for some parts longer than 2 days I would laugh hard.

We had parts shipped overnight from Holland (because we also have Dafs in our fleet), or simply taken from new trucks sitting in the lot.

Same case with repairs, if you can't fix it, pay or give me something else for free meanwhile..

The long time is due to the number trucks needing repaired. Since US emmisions testing is closer to real world driving, engine has to run in tighter window vs EU truck. Most issues I deal with are MIL, not CEL. MIL are related to emmisions drive cycle monitor faults with unexpected or out of range faults during a certain drive cycle. So basically, fault might only occur at certain ambient temperature, with certain load on engine, under certain engine operating mode. I have wasted all kinds of fuel and man hours isolating faults and verifying repairs.

Most SCR catalysts in US use copper zeolite.

I think you're mistaken here. The Euro VI standard uses the World Harmonized Stationary Cycle (WHSC) and the World Harmonized Transient Cycle (WHTC), as far as I know the US uses the same cycles.
But that doesn't explain having to wait 8 weeks for a wiring harness.

Sorry, the bit about the platinum was meant more as a joke although I am sure that whatever the catalyst is that Johnson Matthey puts in the part is quite expensive.

True, and every now and then these things happen, and to the best of companies.

I doubt if any truck manufacturer produces its own wiring harnesses. They put out this kind of work to specialized companies.

I don't see what it has to do with company greed either. Such things are very damaging for your reputation, and damaging a reputation is far easier than building a good one.

Since Euro III (October 1999) the European Stationary Cycle (ESC) and the European Transient Cycle (ETC) were used. Euro VI is obligatory since January 2013.
