Yea and KAG went up to like $31 too. Superior pays $32 out of the Paramount yard after 3 years. Wages across the board have gone up a lot, not sure what's going on. Not that I'm complaining. Happy for everyone who can afford to live more comfortably now.

Also talked to a united guy the other night at LAT who said they are still $28 straight time but get a $18,000 bonus every March or something like that. You heard of anything like that? I know most of the sentinel guys are pretty miserable these days but that sounds like a pretty good deal.

Speaking of which it is a real shame what sentinel has let those United trucks deteriorate into. They are filthy and the wraps are peeling. They are always mis-matching their sets with sentinel trucks hauling united trailers and vice versa. Those used to be the nicest trucks on the road down here. R.I.P.

Arco/tesoro has a fleet of maybe 20 new bobtails sitting at vinvale not sure if they are trying to expand or replace equipment. Because it seems like they all got new trucks not too long ago.

And just to rant about yesterday. I had 2 loads yesterday, both out of vinvale. One to Ventura and one to Thousand oaks. The 101 north had a plane crash on it, and the 118 west had a truck roll over and spill acid. So I had to go all the way up to the 126 to run the loads. Trying to get into ventura county from LA yesterday was impossible.

Oh yea almost forgot. Remember like 6 months ago when tesoro became andeavor. Well now marathon bought andeavor. Now is a good time to be in the sign making business with all that re-branding.

I’ve seen ads in the San Jose market for $30/31. Still too low for that area in my opinion. I finally left California about two weeks ago. Never thought I’d go back to fuel but scored a gig driving a 12 wheel 4 axle tankwagon. Tops out at $30 an hour and this is in the Idaho area! California should be paying much more than $30. These carriers really need to understand your not going to buy a house for $200k in those markets.

Yup everyone is scrambling to keep drivers and attract new drivers. Same thing is happening on this side of the industry as well. Airgas/Air liquid. Just got a $4 dollar raise plus night and weekend diffental pay which puts them over $30 with O.T. after 8hrs. Then a 3rd party cryo fleet gave their guys $30 just to hold on to their guys. It's crazy right now but hey we have all been over due for a raise. Superior will actually start you out higher on the pay scale if you have experience a buddy went from sentinels crappy straight pay to $32 just like that.

We all talk about sentinel just like you said what a freaking joke. Yet when you see the trucks for now hiring on Facebook they are all polished like back in the day lol.

We are losing drivers to a private chem fleet up in the bay. $34 while in training and then $36 or $37 after I believe. Hats off to you driver, going to Idaho. Your gonna earn every penny of that $30 playing in the snow.

I’m right on the border in Washington but same difference. I’ll be in the snow but I’m more worried about falling on my ### since all of the stops are within 20 minutes from the racks.

Drove by the Arco plant over there in South Gate and saw a whole bunch of new trucks lined up.

That's because all trucks go through Vinvale before they're assigned to a terminal. Not all of those trucks will stay at Vinvale. BTW, Vinvale is an old railroad term that was used a long time ago. They replace their trucks at 5 years and go longer for the trailers. If you're in San Diego and you have a truck that's 5 years old you can expect a new truck to replace that one and it's coming from that line. Anyway, That's the way it was when ARCO had control.

I was looking at fuel hauling jobs in the Sacramento region and they all want to start you off at 20 to 23 an hour, seems cheap for that kind of work
