Newbie.... blah blah blah....yadda yadda yadda

Sitting in Ft. Worth. Ready to deliver at 9am. At a truck stop, 3 miles from customer.
Yesterday got all goofed up. Could have delivered early but...
Boss expecting me to deliver this morning. Said to find out from him after. I’ll wait till he gets back to me this morning to leave.
Does seem they’re concentrating on keeping me running. He might have something within Tx. for me. Otherwise told that Denver has another run to Dallas they need done.
I did great on Monday. Drove from western Co. along i70, to Commerce City. Changed out trailers at two locations. Drove to Wichita KS before running out of time. Left me 5 1/2 hours out of Ft. Worth.

 

Earlier this year. I talked about running empty in the Rockies I70. Was over the 45mph for “trucks”. Hardly using brakes. Cop following and didn’t bother me.

Well... I keep looking. I can swear that Co. got rid of a bunch of those 45mph signs? Kept telling myself it’s just me? But checking. I could swear they did. Even in the tougher spots where they left them. There are less of them.
This is my rationalization. CDOT is trying not to be a hen pecking nag. But when they do say something. They really mean it.
Another example is advisory speed on curves. They mean it. When actual speed on curves is set. It’s beyond dangerous to exceed that.
Appears CDOT is really trying.

I could swear east bound out of Eisenhower. Was signs from just about Eisenhower on down. Now none until you get close to Georgetown. ???
Westbound from Eisenhower. The 35mph signs. Yes they’re there. But not nearly as many.

 

My wonderful boss. Gotta admire his enthusiasm. I knew I was running out of time. He told me I’d recap ten hours today. Well... this morning came and I got a dazzling 34 minutes!
So I get to finish out to take a 34. I’m at a Loves in Guthrie Ok. Deliver in Dallas tomorrow.
Oh well... This was shaping up to possibly be a $2k week.
