I like those. Is there a zipper on the back side?

No zipper at all actually that is one of the reasons I liked them I find the zipper boots always ended up leaking water eventually. Plus I think most of them start to bind up around the zipper.

A Goodyear welt is the most common way of attaching a sole to the upper boot. All you have to do is call around asking if they can replace a sole on a boot using a Goodyear welt. You can pick your soles from a number of brands and for functions. No sense in throwing out good full grain leather uppers just because a sole is worn. Vibram is my go to sole replacement. Backed by Pirelli tires basically. You CAN NOT buy a better sole for a boot from any other company than vibram.

I refuse to buy a boot that isn't American made, and it has to be full grain leather.

I've been using Keen for some time they hold up great and reasonably priced. Keep them soaked in mink oil and they are quite water resistant. Although I do carry a good pair of insulated waterproof boots to slip on when chaining because don't want to get my feet cold

I like the Redwing 2412 myself. most comfortable pair of steel toe boots I have worn. Going on 7 years with current pair but souls are worn down pretty good now.

I wear Caterpillar boots. Indiana 2.0, with a nice coating of mink oil

Cintas.com Airdisk II and Reebok shoes & boots. They cost about $75 and last about 2 years. I like steel-toe/composite toe shoes over boots since boots are uncomfortable for me while I drive. I flex my ankle working the pedals. Boots interfere with rhat, IMO.
