When you become owner op and work for a carrier can you purchase the insurance through them? Also can you get you permits dot number and everything else needed to run a truck from them? If it helps prime is my carrier. Thanks.

Good question. I've heard that Prime quit offering insurance for O/O or L/O leasing from a different party.
I think people will get confused about leasing from Prime or leasing to Prime... -
If you own your truck and decide to lease in to Prime (or any carrier), you will be running under their DOT authority and numbers. You will also be covered by their cargo and liability insurance (while under a load). You will be required to get your own bobtail (also called non-trucking) insurance. They may or may not offer an option to buy it thru their insurance carrier.NoBigHurry and KoolKruizeKing Thank this.
